The Dana Hills Interact Club members volunteer at the Dana Point Community Center to put on the annual Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon. At this event, Rotary members from the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club volunteer alongside high school volunteers to bring Thanksgiving to hundreds of senior citizens in Dana Point who usually would not be able to have a Thanksgiving meal!
This year we had 15 Dana Hills volunteers who took time out of their Thanksgiving break to serve 57 community service hours towards NHS and CSF (National Honors Society and California Scholarship Federation) at the event on Saturday, November 20th. Many other student volunteers also participated, but did not count their hours.
I have volunteered at this event for over 5 years, and I can personally say that it is one of my favorite days of the entire holiday season! There is something so magical about food and holiday spirit which always brings a smile to everybody's face - Sophie Andersen
